Job Description We are looking for Fly‐terns (fourth‐year students) in Valencia to join us for a 6‐week summer internship. You will build software that impacts millions of users and processes billions of dollars, not just shadow the team.
Role As a Fly‐tern, you will be embedded within a Platform delivery team. Your primary focus will be a specific, high‐impact project that runs the length of the internship. You will receive dedicated support from both a Mentor and a Manager.
Support System A mentor: a senior engineer who provides day‐to‐day technical guidance, pair programming, and code reviews.
A manager: facilitates professional growth, gives feedback, and helps you navigate Flywire culture.
What You'll Work On Payer Services & Experiences – building high‐performance, accessible user interfaces (React) and the JavaScript SDKs that clients use to trigger payments.
Core Money Movement – developing high‐precision backend logic (Ruby or Java) that tracks funds, handles currency exchange, and manages the global ledger.
Banking & Network Integrations – optimizing APIs and pipelines that connect Flywire to financial institutions worldwide.
Qualifications Current fourth‐year student in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
Familiarity with React (frontend) or Ruby/Java (backend). Solid grasp of data structures, SQL, and use of agentic development tools such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex.
Curious about large‐scale systems, values clean code and testing (TDD), and enjoys building tools used by developers and payers.
Fluency in Spanish and strong command of English.
