Your role as a Project Manager
Key responsibilities:
The Project Manager is the link between all of the moving parts in building a new worksite, from headquarters in the Netherlands, contractors, suppliers and all cross functional departments at NewCold. The Project Manager is responsible for the entire project until the date operations start (commercially). In this role, he/she makes sure that the project gets delivered on time, within budget and in scope. While managing the project, the Project Manager also ensures that Health & Safety protocols are embedded in project scope, that collaboration in the project team is safe and sound, that reporting to key stakeholders is accurate, complete and in-time.
What will you do?
- Manage all (high-level) project deliverables
- Own the creation and management of the project budget
- Own the creation and management of the project schedule
- Ensure all parties are aware of and abide by the quality standards that will be used in the project
- Supervise the project financially and contractually
- Contract management
- Monitor the design and procurement with support of the specialist disciplines (D&E;, MHE, Procurement) and the associated engineering companies
- Take leadership in the project and manage the local project team
- Create a helicopter view on the project, identify when and where support and guidance is needed to bring forward activities/suppliers/team-members
- Record all project related documentation, such as permits, drawings, minutes etcand make sure the timeline of permits are actively being managed
- Organize and facilitate Steering Committee meetings, organize and lead project meetings and coordination meetings
- Periodically report to the Project Director, Steerco, CPO and VP Projects
- Maintain effective and ongoing communication with all parties
Experience and qualifications:
- Master / Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 3 - 7 years professional experience as a Project Manager on complex construction, automation or logistics projects
- Managing projects with multiple moving pieces that are highly technical and complex in nature
- Native Spanish language
- In-depth knowledge of principles, practices and theories of project management
- Exposure to greenfield construction
