Location: Greater Madrid Area
Model: Hybrid - 4 days per week on site

You will join a strategic, fast‑paced industrial environment where procurement excellence directly influences operational performance and long‑term competitiveness.


The Opportunity

Are you ready to take ownership of a €110-120 million annual procurement portfolio within one of Europe\'s most established industrial manufacturing environments?

As Purchasing Manager, you will play a strategic and operational leadership role, overseeing both direct (critical raw materials) and indirect categories (logistics, hard/soft services, utilities, and general services). You will professionalise the procurement function, strengthen supplier performance, drive savings and efficiencies, and ensure supply reliability in a volatile market.

This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Director and is central to the company\'s ongoing transformation and growth.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement & Process Development
o Lead and professionalise the purchasing function at their Greater Madrid-based industrial site.
o Develop procurement strategies ensuring cost optimisation, continuity of supply, and best‑in‑class processes.
o Implement and maintain procurement governance, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.
o Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives and supply‑risk mitigation plans.
2. Category Management & High‑Value Negotiation
o Manage direct and indirect purchasing categories, including raw materials, logistics, industrial services, and CAPEX.
o Lead complex negotiations with major industrial and energy suppliers.
o Build long‑term supplier relationships and optimise supplier portfolios.
o Identify and execute cost‑saving initiatives aligned with corporate targets.
3. Operational Procurement & Supply Continuity
o Oversee day‑to‑day procurement operations, ensuring accuracy in planning, purchasing, and stock management.
o Collaborate closely with production, logistics, finance, quality, and R&D teams.
o Maintain appropriate safety stocks and risk strategies in a highly dynamic supply environment.
4. Leadership & Cross‑Functional Influence
o Manage and develop a small procurement team.
o Engage and influence senior internal stakeholders to support procurement initiatives.
o Represent the company at supplier meetings and, occasionally, international industry events.


Required Skills & Experience

* 6+ years of experience in purchasing within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience managing €100M+ procurement budgets.
* Strong expertise in both direct materials procurement and complex indirect categories.
* Demonstrated success negotiating with large industrial or energy suppliers.
* Fluent in Spanish and English (English C1; able to negotiate internationally).
* Engineering degree or relevant technical background; procurement certifications beneficial.
* Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability.
* Team leadership experience.
* Willingness to travel internationally from time to time.
* Ability to work on site 4 days per week within Greater Madrid.

* Proven track record managing large procurement budgets (ideally €100M+).
* Strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments.
* Expertise in supplier negotiation, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing.
* Ability to lead procurement transformation initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
* Fluent in Spanish and English (both required).
* Comfortable working on‑site 4 days/week in Madrid area
* Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder‑management skills.
