We are seeking to recruit a r esearch assistant for the development of the ARTEMISA project within the Research Unit on Digital Transformation, AI and Technology, part of the KISON research group at the UOC.The objectives of the project:
Generate knowledge and train professionals capable of analysing, assessing and mitigating security risks in digital environments.Promote the adoption of good cybersecurity practices in business, governmental and personal spheres.Encourage the participation of more women in the field of cybersecurity, providing them with equal opportunities and promoting diversity and inclusion.Foster research and the development of new techniques and tools in the field of cybersecurity, generating new knowledge and transferring it to society.ResponsibilitiesWithin the framework of research on speech watermarking to detect malicious manipulations, the tasks to be carried out include the following:
Determine the trade-off between fragility and robustness of watermarks:
Develop methods to adjust the fragility of watermarks in speech, allowing control over the level of sensitivity to different types of modifications (compression, filtering, etc.).Evaluation of robustness against specific attacks:
Analyze the resistance of fragile and semi-fragile watermarks against attacks aimed at removing or altering them, such as watermark estimation and counterfeiting.Combination of fragile and robust watermarks:
Explore the possibility of combining fragile watermarks with robust watermarks to provide both forgery detection and intellectual property protection.Blockchain integration:
Investigate the integration of blockchain technology to record and verify the integrity of watermarks and associated multimedia content, ensuring traceability and non-repudiation.The successful candidate will be awarded a temporary full-time contract lasting 4 months. The scheduled start date is September 2025.For work on site, the principal location will be the UOC Campus, at Rambla del Poblenou 154-156, Barcelona. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in research-related placements.Proficiency in watermarking techniques.Experience in programming with Matlab or Python.High level of English (spoken and written) for use in scientific and technical environments.Also of interest:
