Overview
The Global Business Development Manager (GBDM) leads global opportunities for acquisition and retention customers. The GBDM provides pan-HP leadership to leverage customers to drive positive outcomes with stakeholders. The GBDM develops global customer solutions across country, regional and virtual teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Researches and understands the client's industry and business strategies.
- Acts as a trusted advisor to client leaders, aggressively shapes deals early in the sales cycle.
- Advances opportunities that result in profitable revenue growth for HP.
- Demonstrates breadth and depth of knowledge in aligning HP capabilities to client business and IT priorities, and positioning relative to competitors.
- Maintains excellent communications with customer executive management across the globe.
- Serves as a global expertise resource for District Sales Managers and Global Account Managers.
- Collaborate and lead HP solution opportunities, gather customer technical requirements, and support the account team with global solution input.
- Negotiate HP business terms for global contracts, review inbound contracts, and maximize revenues and margin.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise on competitive capabilities, channel and direct selling motions, legal issues, SOX compliance, and e‑business best practices.
- Lead global program training and manage cross‑regional coordination of inbound opportunities from presales to won stage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 5–10 years of experience in technical consultative selling and account management.
- Strong consultative, solution selling, and business development skills at the CXO level.
- Adept at advanced sales negotiations and positioning under pricing pressures.
- Deep knowledge of HP technology and solutions, including contract negotiation, partner ecosystems, and productivity tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large complex projects.
- Proficiency in presenting value solutions and ensuring alignment with client priorities.
