* The Team Lead – Broker will be required to provide leadership support to the Manager Broker with the day-to-day management and effective resolution of all matters. The Team Lead will be required to develop business relationships with assigned producers.He/She will also be required to professionally and effectively represent the Company, analyze data/market activities, recognize trends and make recommendations on strategies and products.
Job Description:
* To report to the Manager Broker on all relevant Broker Services issues.
* To assist the Manager Broker with the management and effective resolution of all matters regarding Brokers.
* To develop and prepare reports, analyze trends and make recommendations to improve the operations and production of Broker Business.
* To assist the Manager Broker with the development and implementation of strategies determined for Broker Business
* To deliver on decisions in the absence of the Manager Broker.
* To oversee daily operations of the relevant Broker Service operations with direction from the Manager Broker.
* Monitor and ensure accurate processing of transactions to reduce the number of audit exceptions.
* To build relationships with Brokers and Account Executives.
* To prepare Performance Assessments for staff for review by the Manager Broker.
* Monitor and ensure all billings are authorized before the last working day of each month.
* To ensure compliance with Company policies, and legislation under which the Company is governed.
* To plan and coordinate training and related activities for the staff.
* To conduct Broker team meetings as deemed necessary.
* To assist in the recruitment and selection process by actively participating in interviewing prospective employees.
* To visit and conduct presentations and Insurance Risk Surveys for existing / prospective clients as required.
* To achieve goals and objectives outlined for the Broker Unit.
* To maintain the time and attendance application for the Branch and to review and authorize staff requests as necessary within 48 hours of the time availed.
* To ensure that there is adequate management of the staff complement.
* To supervise staff, allocate and assign tasks.
* To accept and perform any other relevant duties that may be which would assist the organization achieving its Strategic goals and objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree or Pursuing Master’s Degree in a similar/related field.
* Dip CII/ACII or other General Insurance qualification.
* Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in General Insurance Underwriting in a senior position.
* Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
* Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.
* Able to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
