About The Role
As a recognized leader in airport logistics worldwide, Vanderlande relies on advanced automation and control systems to keep baggage and cargo moving efficiently. We are looking for a talented PLC & Controls Engineer to support the deployment and evolution of our systems globally. You will play a pivotal role in connecting R&D; to live operational performance, ensuring our innovations translate to seamless field execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commission and debug PLC-based automation systems during on-site installations and test phases
2. Troubleshoot control systems and recommend changes to improve stability, efficiency, and performance
3. Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration
4. Support the factory and service teams in understanding control logic and troubleshooting tools
5. Update and maintain PLC code, HMI screens, and related documentation during system evolution
6. Provide structured feedback to R&D; to influence roadmap and feature improvements
Requirements
1. BSc or MSc in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or similar
2. 3–7 years of experience in PLC programming (e.G., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
3. Experience in commissioning automated machinery or industrial control systems
4. Knowledge of motion control, safety PLCs, and fieldbus systems (Profinet, EtherCAT, etc.)
5. Field-readiness and willingness to travel internationally (~10%)
6. Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work cross-functionally
