Commissioning Engineer, CommissioningAmazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable low‐cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries. To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA, we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.
In this role you will be part of a highly creative, efficient team tasked with tackling challenging problems building and supporting operations of AWS owned data centres and colocation facilities. The AWS Commissioning team understands, evaluates, defines and manages construction quality according to engineering designs to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of medium and low voltage power systems.
Support generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) and tests and balancing.
Support pumps and hydronic systems.
Provide multi‐discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design and planning of projects.
Review component submittal packages, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), perform system‐level and integrated system testing.
Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality and safety requirements.
Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned.
About the TeamAWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization. The team comprises veteran electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural engineers, project managers and operators who provide detailed engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning‐specific education courses.
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
Experience with the design, construction, operation or maintenance of mission‐critical facilities, especially data centres.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
Knowledge of commercial or industrial power or mechanical systems.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development and deployment or mass production.
Experience using a variety of web‐based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.
