Job Summary:
As a Sales Engineer, you will be crucial in driving sustainable growth by building customer relationships, providing technical expertise, and promoting our innovative fluid management solutions in a designated region and sector. You will proactively seek self-generated growth opportunities, act as a trusted advisor, and combine technical knowledge with commercial skills to deliver tailored solutions aligned with our Total Customer Solutions approach.
You will identify and engage potential customers, manage a pipeline of opportunities, and support key account growth through consultative sales practices. The role involves frequent customer interactions, including on-site visits and virtual demonstrations, to showcase our products' features and benefits. Your ability to work independently, travel extensively, and adapt to changing challenges will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use a consultative approach to guide customers through their buying journey, researching their needs, validating pain points, and co-developing tailored solutions.
* Develop and utilize Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) to qualify, develop, and manage opportunities effectively.
* Establish and maintain a sustainable pipeline of potential opportunities, growing key customer accounts and high-growth industries.
* Identify and engage new customers through research, networking, and industry events, promoting Watson-Marlow products.
* Build long-term relationships with existing customers by understanding their needs, troubleshooting, and providing proactive recommendations.
* Manage sales leads and inquiries, providing tailored quotations and ensuring timely follow-ups.
* Strategically allocate workload across support functions to support high-impact commercial initiatives.
* Proactively demonstrate products through on-site visits or virtual presentations, highlighting features and applications.
* Research industry trends, engage in professional development, and share insights with colleagues to stay industry-leading.
* Utilize CRM tools to track leads, manage follow-ups, and support accurate forecasting for sustainable growth.
* Drive Total Customer Solutions by adopting consultative sales techniques and acting as a true partner to key customers.
* Champion core values of safety, collaboration, customer focus, excellence, and respect within teams.
Skills and Experience:
* BSc or diploma in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
* Technical sales experience in process capital equipment or similar products/services for industrial process customers.
* Strong commercial acumen with proven key account management and business development skills in a B2B environment.
* Entrepreneurial problem-solving, budgeting, networking, and collaboration skills.
* Willingness and ability to travel 60-70% across the designated region.
* Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential; Portuguese is a plus.
