The Opportunity
We are hiring for a Business Development Manager. This exciting opportunity will cover Spain & Portugal. The person is responsible for maintaining existing customers and developing new and potential customers in the assigned territory. They will develop and maintain positive customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and industry-leading products at competitive prices.
* Develop detailed profiles of assigned markets and sub-segments in conjunction with the relevant territory Business Development Director.
* Leverage all available tools, including social media, insights / reports / publications, and market contacts to profile markets and identify opportunities.
* Liaise with product management, R&D, and quality functions in developing new projects and opportunities.
* Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers.
* Travel to customers for in-person meetings to promote new products, enhance relationships, address queries, and showcase the full product portfolio.
* Develop and execute customer strategy and activation plans.
* Prepare sales quotes, negotiate pricing, and provide business solutions to close sales effectively.
* Maintain strong knowledge of the full product portfolio and applications.
* Stay updated on industry news and trends through events, tradeshows, seminars, memberships, and subscriptions.
* Coordinate with customer service and internal teams on customer queries.
* Review internal data to monitor performance, including volume and profitability.
* Work with customers to develop accurate forecasts to support financial and supply chain planning.
The Skills you will bring to the team
* Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Food / Nutrition Science or Sales & Marketing with a technical background, or equivalent.
* Experience managing an established customer base in FMCG / Food Industry roles.
* Strong commercial acumen and ambition for growth and new business development.
* Results-oriented with a focus on achieving team and organizational goals.
* Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication with all levels of personnel, customers, and vendors.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
Language, Computer & Numeracy :
* Excellent verbal and written skills in Spanish and English.
* Functional skills in French are a plus.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
* Experience with LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
