Zurich Insurance Group is seeking a senior Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist who specializes in Microsoft enterprise software to join the global Software Asset Management function. The objective is to optimize software contract spend, manage compliance, analyze data, draw relevant conclusions, and work with others to implement opportunities or remediate risks.
This is a challenging senior role requiring a broad understanding of IT technology, service management processes, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholder groups within Zurich Group.
The Global Technology Organization (GTO) SW Asset Management team comprises international SAM experts in five countries, managing a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and assisting other IT stakeholders in achieving their objectives.
Your Role
As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your main responsibilities include:
* Subject matter expertise in Microsoft operations and competencies, with the ability to apply and advise on complex software licensing topics and produce Enterprise License Plans (ELPs) for Microsoft software – user-based and server-based.
* Understanding Microsoft licensing concepts and product use rights on-premises and in the cloud.
* Navigating and leveraging Microsoft software-related billing, tracking, and measurement systems and tools like Azure Active Directory, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), My Access, Intune, and ServiceNow.
* Providing transparency of costs for software contracts and ensuring fair allocation of charges to Business Units (BUs) and Service owners based on software usage.
* Negotiating successfully across the organization and with external suppliers/vendors in a constructive and collaborative manner.
* Maintaining a stakeholder community and enabling information sharing.
* Proactively identifying and driving initiatives to achieve software-related savings, developing best practices and processes, and continuously improving the software asset management service to ensure compliance with budget and contractual requirements.
* Identifying necessary changes and playing a key role in complex software contract negotiations, managing demand and contract updates, liaising with external vendors, legal, contract, and sourcing teams.
Your Skills and Experience
As a Software Asset Management Specialist, your skills and qualifications should include:
* 5+ years of relevant experience with:
o Direct responsibility and hands-on management of Microsoft software portfolios in enterprise environments (irrespective of industry).
o Creating and being responsible for full ELPs for server-based software (primarily SQL and Windows).
o Active hands-on work with general Microsoft-specific system and usage billing, tracking, and measurement tools.
o Advanced hands-on MS Excel skills (V/H-Look Ups, Pivots, Complex calculations, …).
o Profit and Loss (P&L) calculations and accruals for cost impact.
* Fluent spoken and written English (strong B2+).
* Flexera in-depth hands-on experience and expertise preferred but not mandatory.
