Overview
We are looking for a Sales Development Specialist - Pharma who will be responsible for developing the customer base for Croda’s Pharma division. The role involves having technical and commercial discussions with current and potential customers to grow the business base and generate awareness for Croda in Spain and Portugal. The Business Development Specialist will also be responsible for organising and participating in key industry events and professional associations, supporting sales representatives with technical knowledge, conducting market research and analysis, and developing an action plan for Pharma to determine the best way to expand the customer base. They will also be responsible for adapting and deploying the new product launch strategy to the needs of the region, and liaising with internal sector and regional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop the customer base for the pharma division, both ingredients and solutions.
* Generate awareness for Croda in Spain and Portugal.
* Conduct market research and analysis and develop an action plan to expand the customer base.
* Support organisation and participation in key industry events and professional associations.
* Assist sales representatives with technical knowledge when relevant.
* Deploy and adapt the product launch strategy to meet country and regional needs.
* Liaise with regional and local stakeholders.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in technical roles, business development or sales in the pharma industry.
* Degree level Life Sciences background or equivalent in a science related discipline, preferably Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biotechnology or Biochemistry.
* Master’s degree or above in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and summarise complex datasets and generate fact-based conclusions and recommendations.
* Knowledge of the Pharma market in Spain and Portugal is highly desirable.
* Ability to conduct market research and develop action plans.
* Experience in organising and participating in key industry events and/or professional associations is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with people of different backgrounds.
* Strong commercial/sales acumen and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Highly proficient technical selling and ability to communicate technical concepts to customers with strong industry, market and product knowledge.
* Proficiency in MS Office and in Spanish and English, both oral and written, are a must. Knowledge of Catalan and Portuguese is a plus.
* Valid driving licence is required.
