We are seeking a Simulation Engineer to design and deliver discrete event simulation models that inform large-scale network and process design decisions.Role OverviewThe Simulation Engineer will design, build, validate, and deliver discrete event simulations that model material flow, automation, and system interactions across sophisticated operational systems. This role focuses on transforming complex and often ambiguous processes into robust simulation models that support strategic and long-term decision making.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and deliver discrete event simulation solutions for complex operational systems using tools such as Flex Sim, Demo3 D, Any Logic, or other DES platformsDevelop simulation models representing material flow, automation, robotics, and process control logicConduct strategic modelling and simulation research to evaluate process design alternatives and operational trade-offsApply simulation science best practices to simplify complex problems and improve model efficiency, accuracy, and reliabilityTackle ambiguous, high-impact process flow challenges with limited existing structureProduce high-quality simulation outputs, including technical documentation and model validation artefactsInfluence business decisions by clearly communicating simulation outcomes, risks, and recommendationsUse advanced statistical and simulation techniques, including Python or other object-oriented languages, for data analysis and model developmentCollaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors on equipment specification, material flow logic, site layout, and process designDeliver simulation results in line with agreed project timelines and quality expectationsRequired Experience & SkillsProven experience delivering discrete event simulations for complex systemsHands-on expertise with DES software such as Flex Sim, Demo3 D, Any Logic, or equivalentExperience modelling automation, robotics, or large-scale material handling systemsAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
