RF Engineer
Join our team and build the furure of space technology
We´re expanding our team at Alén Space, and are looking for a RF Engineer; with passion in what you do, talented and experienced; to join the Electronic Development Department. This department is responsible for designing electronic devices and products for both the space and ground segments, as well as support tools (GSE), with a strong focus on radio systems. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design and verification of new RF products, particularly the analog frontend stage. This includes the transmission and reception chain, as well as the electronics required to create a self-contained unit (power distribution stage, communication interfaces with digital control systems, etc.). Additionally, the role involves providing technical analyses to assess the performance of the communication system and developing new concepts and architectures.
What you will be doing?
1. Provide expertise in communication theory, including the evaluation of payloads, terminals, and ground station systems.
2. High-level design of radiofrequency components: amplifiers, filters, mixers, etc.
3. PCB design for RF devices.
4. Functional and electrical verification of developed devices.
5. Deliver technical analysis and simulation to assess communication system performance and to develop next-generation communication architecture requirements.
6. Evaluate the performance of ground and satellite systems, as well as communication links.
7. Analyze radio frequency interference between systems to ensure compatibility.
8. Support the systems engineering team in identifying new communication concepts and architectures.
What do we need in our team
9. At least 2 years of experience in similar roles.
10. Proficiency in English.
11. Experience in communications and electronic systems.
12. Experience in RF device simulation.
13. Experience in verifying communication system parameters (noise figure, sensitivity, channel selectivity, BER, isolation, mutual interference, phase noise, intermodulation, EVM, IP3, OIP3, etc.).
14. Proficiency in operating and maintaining RF instrumentation equipment.
Valuable knowledge:
15. Experience in testing according to quality standards (ECSS) and international certifications.
16. Knowledge in the design of RF components operating above 12 GHz (Ku to Ka bands).
17. Experience in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing.
18. Theoretical understanding of space communication concepts.
19. Knowledge of international radio regulations (ITU).
20. Familiarity with antenna design theory.
Candidate qualifications and skills
21. Work remotely for a percentage of time to be agreed upon with the Area Manager.
22. Flexible start/finish times; reduced intensive working hours on Fridays and in summer Monday to Friday.
23. Competitive compensation with ongoing reviews, flexible compensation .
24. Wellbeing program: Health, dental, and accident insurance; free fruit and coffee, free lunch every friday and much more!
25. Personalized career plan development, training, and language learning support
