The British School of Barcelona is seeking a Billing and Cash Collection Specialist to lead and optimise invoicing and payment collection for tuition and ancillary services (transport, meals, activities, trips, and other family charges). This is a key role in ensuring data accuracy, timely billing, and effective receivables tracking-contributing directly to the school's financial health. You will join a dynamic, collaborative team within the international Cognita group, making a meaningful impact in one of Spain's leading international schools.
- Issue accurate invoices based on student contracts and additional services
- Manage incoming payments and reconcile them with student accounts
- Follow up on outstanding balances and coordinate payment plans when necessary
- Support monthly and year-end closing processes related to billing and accounts receivable
- Generate financial reports and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Provide attentive and professional customer service to families, managing email communications and addressing billing-related inquiries
- Collaborate with the Admin and Admissions teams to enhance the overall family experience and to ensure data integrity
Who are we looking for?
A detail-oriented, organised professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Strong analytical skills, a service-driven mindset, and discretion when handling sensitive information are essential.
- Previous experience in billing, finance, or administrative roles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems (ideally NetSuite)
- Fluency in both English and Spanish
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage pressure and maintain confidentiality
- Proactive attitude towards process improvement and efficiency optimisation
- Customer-focused approach, ensuring a positive experience for families and colleagues
