Safety Specialist, Health and Safety M/F

In this role, you’ll implement vital safety measures to ensure everyone at your location works in a safe and healthy environment. This hands-on role allows you to make a daily difference by proactively ensuring safety, empowering employees to feel confident and motivated in their roles.
Key job responsibilities
1. Monitor site performance against KPIs and develop plans to improve processes
2. Establish workplace health and safety programs and coordinate training sessions
3. Analyze safety metrics and incident trends to allocate resources effectively in high-risk areas
4. Conduct audits to ensure compliance with health and safety laws and address identified risks
A day in the life
You will be based onsite at one of our facilities, such as a fulfilment center, sortation center, or delivery station. Being onsite allows you to closely monitor processes, ensure health and safety compliance, identify potential issues, and find opportunities for improvement. You will collaborate with various teams to understand risks, collect data, and develop safer work practices. Additionally, you will organize training and programs to promote safety standards.
About the team
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) team ensures the physical and mental well-being of our employees across sites. We work with managers, staff, and local authorities to maintain compliance with Amazon policies and legal regulations, fostering a safe working environment. Opportunities within the team range from Health and Safety Technicians to Program Managers, all committed to upholding high safety and wellbeing standards through various projects involving equipment inspections, process assessments, and safety design.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
* Experience in workplace health and safety (WHS)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word
* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding security or personnel issues
* Technical qualification in Risk Prevention (including specializations in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, and Psychosociology) following Spanish regulations
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent as per the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
* Understanding of Spanish EHS legislation
* Fluent in the local language and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience in emergency response
* Experience in workers' compensation case management
* Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or Kaizen methodologies
* Experience leading environmentally conscious initiatives
