Role Purpose
Responsible for working within authority limits on assignments reflecting the expert degree of technical complexity and coordination under broad management direction.
Key responsibilities will involve underwriting business for Spain & Portugal clients in line with the business plan; monitoring aggregate exposure within agreed limits; monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within agreed limits; maintaining awareness of all claims advised; supporting and providing input on settlement of claims advised; building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients; supporting the design and structure of risks.
Job Responsibilities
What will your essential responsibilities include?
1. Underwrite, manage and service a renewal book and produce new business in accordance with business unit goals and aligned with local and group underwriting guidelines.
2. In coordination with the Casualty manager, develop and manage underwriting strategies for both renewals and targets within your portfolio of accounts, including knowledge of the current penetration by product, cross marketing penetration and specific plans to increase company share.
3. Analysis and evaluation of risks showing technical consistency.
4. Build and enhance relationships with brokers and clients and identify and establish new distribution relationships.
5. Maintain expertise with the products, services, priorities, and targeted markets.
6. Maintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims.
7. Identify and drive new product development opportunities. Effectively cross-market with other AXA XL lines; meet with brokers and insureds as required.
8. Cultivate key broker relationships to maintain a steady stream of business within our underwriting appetite.

9. Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration or Engineering.
10. Extensive experience in underwriting, policy development, and broker management in Liability.Experience in corporate segment will be valued.
11. Possess a high and extensive level of technical knowledge and skills.
12. Liability underwriting expertise.
13. Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
14. Fluent in Spanish and English
15. Recognized in the Spanish Market.
Valued knowledge of the Portuguese Market.
