About usWe’re True Roots, and in Barcelona we’re building a bistro that runs mainly during the day. Our focus is on healthy lunch deliveries, supported by a small takeaway counter with a barista. Alongside the café, we also run catering with pre-set boxes for offices, events, and private clients.For now, with construction on the street outside, we’ll keep the focus on delivery and takeaway. Later on, we plan to expand into dinners with new shifts and a dedicated evening menu.About the Role:Café Operations- Lead and manage all daily kitchen operations for the café.- Plan and prepare menus with a focus on healthy, balanced lunch options.- Oversee prep and service for deliveries and takeaway orders.- Maintain recipe costings, tech sheets, and yield cards.- Manage inventory, suppliers, and procurement.- Ensure high standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene.- Coordinate with the barista for smooth front- and back-of-house operations.Catering & Deliveries- Prepare and organize catering events and catering boxes with consistent quality and presentation.- Manage logistics for catering services as well as bespoke catering events- Support delivery-focused operations, ensuring food is packaged and transported properly.Team & Administration- Create and manage staff schedules for the kitchen team.- Train and support junior staff when applicable.- Track and manage food costs, reconcile invoices, and minimize waste.Future Development- Be open to adapting workflows and schedules as the bistro expands into dinner service.- Contribute ideas for future menu development and operational improvements.What We Offer- Full-time contractor position with consistent hours (40h/week)- Competitive monthly compensation- Support with autónomo setup and tax-related admin- A supportive, purpose-driven work environment- A dynamic team that values clear communication and high standards- Opportunities to contribute creatively to menu development- Staff meals and a focus on wellness and balance✨Why This Role is SpecialThis role holds together the creative and operational sides of our kitchen work.
