Opportunity to be ourPowergen Projects " Senior HSE Engineer" at Cummins Europe, based in Madrid.
Work model: hybrid. 40% travel availability. Very high level of English required. Relocation is not eligible.
In this role, you will make an impact in some of the following ways:
Actively promotes health, safety and environmental awareness and applies technical expertise in the design, implementation and management of health, safety and environmental engineering controls within the site(s).
Provides technical support cross-functionally to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.
Complete proactive onsite checks and audits to identify HSE compliance gaps and risk improvement areas.
Co-ordinate and oversee any external HSE consultants, contracted resources, third party compliance audits as applicable. Lead onsite incident investigations.
Prepare and review projects specific HSE documentation such as risk assessments, method statements (RAMs), safe systems of work, competency documents, contractor RAMs etc. to ensure accurate and comprehensive.
Prepare and deliver required training and onsite toolbox talks.
Provide onsite HSE supervision and oversight especially around high-risk operations such as such as lifting operations, electrical commissioning, work at height, contractor management activities etc.
Builds relationships and work collaboratively across functions and stakeholders (external site GC / PC / client and internal Cummins project and wider teams).
Utilise Cummins systems (ENABLON) and complete required activities incident investigations, tasks, actions, KPI etc.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education: College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Experience: minimum 2-5 years of HSE preventive resource work experience in Spain required. Experience of working in construction sector required, powergen preferred. Knowledge of Spanish HSE regulations, and standards with experience in implementing them is required. Minimal management experience preferred.
Qualification: Technical PRL or equivalent knowledge of occupational risk prevention acquired through courses in occupational safety that comply with the content laid out in Regulations on Prevention Services is required. Construction Safety or Construction health and safety coordinator qualification or training preferred.
Proficient in utilising various office 365 applications .
Role requires travel to project sites throughout Spain and rest of Europe and UK required (>40%)
Very fluent level of Spanish and English language (C1 or C2 equivalent)
