Job Description: An opportunity for a Lab Test Engineer in the field of Communication Systems (Connectivity, Mission and Safety Comms) has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe. The selected candidate will join the Flight & Integration Test Centre.

Responsibilities
* We are looking for a Systems Test Engineer with a background in Military Aircraft Communication Systems, focused on Military Aircraft Connectivity Systems, Mission Comms and Safety Comms.
* The roles and responsibilities lie within IV&V activities with the final target of demonstrating the correct system performance and providing evidence for subsequent testing and clearance processes.
* The testing is performed at different levels, from Virtual Testing environments up to Laboratory Subsystem and Global System Integration Rigs, and may include support to on-aircraft Ground & Flight testing if required.
* The team supports all programs within the Spanish Airbus Defence and Space portfolio (Eurofighter, A400M, Derivatives, Light & Medium, Eurodrone, SIRTAP, Helicopters, FCAS, etc.).
* Typical Systems Under Test include:
o CONNECTIVITY Systems: ALIMS (AIRCRAFT LINKS INTEGRATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) or similar, COMMS Manager Computers and JRE (Joint Range Extension)
o MCOMS: Mission Communication Systems such as UAV Primary/Secondary Data Links, Tactical Radios
o SCOMS: Safety Communication Systems such as SATCOM, Audio Management Systems, V/UHF Radios
Responsibilities (continued)
* Analysis of technical documentation and Test Requirements to build up Rig Test Cases/Procedures, and to create Requirements Specifications for rigs and their Validation Procedures.
* Creation of Test Datasets prior to run-time testing, including Simulation Requirements (for TSS), Test Scripts, Initialisation Data, Tactical Scenarios, etc.
* Execution of test steps as described in the Test Procedures, including pre-run activities (crypto loading, software loading, initialization) and run-time activities (operation of the Rig Test Support System and Lab Test Equipment).
* Analysis of system behavior and creation of Test Reporting documentation.
* Declaration and lifecycle management of Equipment/System Problem Reports, including root-cause investigations.
* Management of tools for controlling and reporting processes (e.g., DOORS, Octane, FTNet, DMS, PCMS, PRMS, Agilo).
* Specification of ad-hoc Test Tools (for decoding, recording, translation, emulation, automation) and tool qualification.
Skills
We are looking for candidates with a degree in Telecommunications, Industrial-Electronics Engineering or Aeronautical fields (or related discipline) and at least 2 years of experience in the above systems. Airbus supports personal growth with development paths, training and coaching. You will need skills focused on two pillars:
* HANDS-OFF RIG: Technical knowledge on the COMMS Systems Under Test, independent from the rig environment; requirements interpretation and allocation to build Test Procedures and Data Sets; systems behavior assessment and analysis tools.
* HANDS-ON RIG: Technical knowledge on Lab Equipment (sniffers, 1553 Databus Analysers, etc) and on Test Support Systems; English and Spanish proficiency; 0-3 years of experience in similar roles.
