Company Physician (Colleague Wellness and Occupational Health) - Madrid
ROLE PURPOSE:
Deliver, lead & monitor the integrated Occupational risk prevention service & its policies in the company.- Will be responsible for, but not limited to, delivering an occupational illness prevention service to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and Pfizer Environmental, Health & safety (EHS) Standards on Occupational health; and reviewing the management system and its performance metrics through regular assessments/audits and addressing non-conformances of the system in a timely manner.- Delivery of occupational health risk assessments, medical emergency preparedness and response, wellness programmes, emergency first-aid and workplace health.- Accountable for:
- Meeting 100% compliance with all applicable Health and Safety laws & regulations and Pfizer EHS Standards on Occupational health.- Optimising systems and/or equipment in term of performance (e.g. productivity, cost improvement).- Initiating relevant workplace health and wellness activities / projects- Control operational expenses as per budget’s plan
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure Company complies with applicable regulatory laws and regulations and Integral Colleague wellness medical support standards in Occupational Health Management.- Risk assess & evaluate new and existing jobs, processes, products, work hazards or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards & propose measures for the control and reduction of risk.- Oversee the entire administration of the Company’s Health Surveillance Program. This includes acting as key liaison person between colleagues, company and the insurance provider, and screen health surveillance/check-up results to ensure that workforce is fit and healthy.- Support the development of occupational health and wellness policies and/or procedures and ensure smooth implementation.- Develop plan of preventive actions & deliver workplace wellness programs to promote health life style.- Provide primary medical care, first aid treatment and attend medical emergencies.- Provide basic counseling to colleagues on health related issues & signpost to relevant resources.- Manage site medical supplies, equipment and safe keeping medical records, workplace injury/illness records/investigations & review (escalating to EMEA Colleague Wellness lead as necessary), health surveillance records, risk assessments etc.ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS- Lead and liaise with regulatory agencies in terms of site point-of-contact, follow-up and correspondences.- Contribute to Colleague Wellness regional team to leverage on practice and guidance and resources.- Vendor management: Manage the outsourced preventive activities e.g. relationship management, contract management, invoicing and audits.- Form effective working relationships with relevant partnered groups for work activities both locally and globally e.g. Health and Safety (EHS), Human Resources (PX), Country President, Benefits, Communications.- Prepare for both internal and external audits & be familiar with work processes / policies, operations and standards applicable to the workplace to be inspected.
JOB PROFILE
**Requirements**:
Qualified physician - A specialist physician in occupational medicine or with a university diploma in Occupational Medicine or a Master's degree in occupational health.
Experience of working autonomously to run a Colleague Wellness/Occupational Health service, in partnership with outsourced preventive activities is a requirement.
A proficiency in speaking English.
Nice-to-have
An accreditation in one or more of the preventative specialities or disciplines of: safety at work, occupational hygiene and ergonomics and applied psycho-sociology.
