Job Description Summary :
As a vital member of the Asset Management Team, reporting to the Area Manager for the allocated area, you will oversee the safe and optimal performance of renewable energy assets. The role involves managing contractors to execute planned and corrective maintenance within specified time, quality, and cost parameters across your designated region. As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of wind farms and solar plants, ensuring that internal procedures are followed and that suppliers are in line with sector best practices, promoting health and safety at work.Key ResponsibilitiesHSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental) :
Ensure the safety of all personnel on site, adhering to regulations and legislation.Uphold effective HSQE standards across the wind farm portfolio under your management.Conduct regular audits and inspections of contractors for compliance.Document safety incidents promptly, investigate as needed, and provide recommendations.Lead emergency planning with regular exercises to verify its effectiveness.Contractor Management :
Maintain high standards in contractor performance and stakeholder engagement.Implement work plans for all sites, emphasizing the efficient generation of each wind turbine.Foster good relationships with key stakeholders through regular communication.Conduct contractor audits to ensure governance against contract deliverables.Collaborate in procurement process in line with company policies.Oversee project management to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with minimal impact on site performance.Technical :
Operate the plant with a focus on safety and quality, maximizing asset generation.Identify and mitigate risks that could impact performance targets.Carry out regular checks and inspections on contractors to ensure safe and high-quality activities.Obtain authorization under HV safety rules and coordinate component exchanges.Investigate major outages to prevent re-occurrence and ensure lessons learned.Participate in fault finding and rectification where possible.Collaborate on value-added projects to monitor asset efficiency, ensuring correct installation and operation of equipment.Commercial :
Deliver works on site within defined budgets while maximizing profitability.Provide inputs to annual budgets for operating and capital expenditures.Manage wind farms in line with budgetary expectations, identifying and communicating variances.Focus on performance improvements to enhance wind farm profitability without compromising safety or quality.Reporting :
Produce monthly operational reports detailing Asset Management activities and site performance.Collaborate with Operational Analysts to address turbine performance issues.Provide written business cases to support initiatives.On-Call Responsibilities :
Participate in a rotational on-call system within the area.Be available for site attendance outside of regular hours.Technical and Cross-Functional Competences :
Experience managing onshore wind farms (2-5 years).Knowledge of documentation, monitoring, and reporting industry best practices.Experience with PV plants is beneficial.Strong communication skills at all levels.Fault analysis and corrective action planning for wind turbines.Strong scheduling and planning skills.Experience with HV/LV electrical plant operation and maintenance.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.Knowledge of Vestas wind turbines is a plus.Education & Experience :
Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil construction.2-5 years experience in the Renewables Industry.Project Management skills and experience.Skills and Abilities :
Contractor management and HSQE expertise.Ability to be on site around 80% of the time.Residence near wind farms.Time Type :
