About the Role

As a key component of our Global Procurement team, Tactical Procurement plays a crucial role in driving operational efficiency and excellence. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process-from precise handling of purchase orders to proactive communication and resolution of supplier issues. Tactical Procurement ensures full compliance with internal policies, strengthens supplier relationships, and promotes seamless cross-functional collaboration. We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded professional who is committed to optimizing procurement operations and contributing to the success of our global supply chain.

Main tasks:

1. Purchase Order Management:

2. Creation and management of purchase orders

3. Perform daily checks and address overdue purchase orders
4. Execute modifications on purchase orders, including quantity and delivery date changes
5. Processing of order confirmations
6. Manage daily operations, provide rolling forecasts
7. Handling of import shipments (air and sea), forward documents to import partner, organize transportation of shipments from airport/seaport to Armilla (Granada)
8. Handling of CrossCo and InterCompany orders between different Symrise affiliates
9. Control of commercial invoices / logistics invoices
10. Handling of pre-shipment samples for purchase orders

11. Logistics and Supplier Interaction:

12. Discuss and resolve order-related logistic issues with suppliers

13. Support supplier meetings/negotiations with operational input

14. Complaint Management:

15. Handle and resolve complaints efficiently

16. Document Handling:

17. Prepare and forward "Customer End Use Declaration"

18. Communication and Data Management:

19. Maintain updated information in SAP, including contracts and info records

20. Ensure effective communication of necessary information

21. Quality and Compliance:

22. Manage specification issues and secure the supply to Symrise plants

23. Start and track AVA (alternate vendor approval) process
24. Manage Supplier-DMS (Document Management System) requests
25. Manage the approval process for new material developments

26. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

27. Act as a point of contact between buyers and BUs/Sales

28. Involve technical experts from divisions or production on delegated spend

29. Supplier Relationship Management:

30. Maintain supplier selection and purchase requisition in SAP

31. Resolve pending issues with suppliers.

32. Critical Supplier Performance Management:

33. Escalate critical supplier performance issues

34. Support monitoring and management of relationships within the assigned category

Support Category Buyers in their daily work (in the capacity of Tactical Procurement, your supporting role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and strategic success of our procurement operations):

* Support with the identification and assessment of suppliers
* Support sourcing tactics development (e.G. bidding vs classical negotiation)
* Support with the identification of key sourcing levers and develop a long-term sourcing strategy on responsible spending
* Support with external market and financial analysis
* Support internal analysis, including baseline and status quo reviews
* Provide input for new cost-effective initiatives for delegated spend
* Support risk assessment of the product portfolio, proposing measures to reduce risks for delegated raw materials

About you

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent relevant experience
* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing roles
* Proven track record in executing procurement tasks, including purchase order management, complaint resolution and supplier communication
* Demonstrated experience in managing operational tasks across the procurement process
* Familiarity with regulatory and compliance aspects in procurement
* Analytical thinking skills Skills
* Proficiency in purchase order management
* Effective communication and collaboration skills
* Medium-High level of English language necessary
* Familiarity with SAP and other relevant procurement tools
* IT skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), Outlook
* Detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate documentation
* Ability to handle logistics and address order-related issues with suppliers
* Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to the successful execution of procurement tasks
