Overview
This position represents a fantastic opportunity for a talented, highly motivated, and positive individual to become a proactive member of BD’s global Operational Excellence (OPEX) community. The Global BD Excellence Senior Manager – Factory Flow will be passionate about creating a culture of operational and customer excellence, implementing change, and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) across the network through the BD Excellence program. This role applies LEAN production and CI principles to sustainably optimize quality, delivery, cost, and safety.
Job Description
Main Responsibilities include:
1. Coach factory teams regarding BD Excellence, with focus on external and internal benchmarking. Develop and mentor a zero loss mindset across critical areas to optimize quality, delivery and cost while improving safety.
2. Develop and grow capability through components and component teams to establish fundamentals of safety, quality, and reliability. Coach and guide sites to focus resources and time on priorities.
3. Coordinate BD Excellence components deployment. Drive capability development through deployment of progressively advanced component methodologies. Achieve long-term CI objectives through cross-functional alignment of resources toward shared goals.
4. Develop BD Excellence capability to help sites deliver a multi-year cost-to-win (CtW) program. Build capability that improves problem solving, increases loss awareness, and empowers teams to eliminate factory-loss in a sustainable way.
5. Coach associates on continuous improvement methodologies within manufacturing areas, focusing on Lean Workplace and Factory Flow components.
6. Support plant BD Excellence Manager, BD Excellence Engineer, Logistics Engineer and Factory Flow / Lean Workplace component Leader in defining the Factory Flow and Lean Workplace Roadmap, tracking KPIs and realizing savings in Internal Logistics and Labor Productivity.
7. Define the Roadmap of the Lean Workplace and Factory Flow components.
8. Facilitate and/or lead breakthrough Kaizen events and bootcamps to enable targeted performance improvement and solution realization.
9. Provide on-site coaching and assessments of Kaizen activities. Establish governance to follow up on project and savings status.
10. Help site leadership create strategic vision and align through cascading KPIs top-down and bottom-up.
11. Support Lean Flow centers of excellence (COEs). Develop standards and best practices. Optimize methodologies for different manufacturing technologies. Promote best practices and ensure sites establish KPIs and visibility of global component impact. Support maturity assessment programs across units.
12. Own and drive the process to collaborate with BD Excellence Business Units and other functions to generate projects, solutions, and best practices.
13. Lead multiple teams and projects toward desired results. Prioritize cost-saving projects and manage savings and timelines.
14. Contribute to strategic planning for continuous improvement in Factory Flow (Internal Logistics) and Lean Workplace.
15. Act as a champion to overcome barriers, challenge the status quo, and provide cost-effective solutions for customers.
16. Report progress on UPH, savings, and related metrics for BD Excellence global reporting and visibility.

* Plays a critical role in projects, initiatives, and breakthrough events (e.G., UPH improvements).
* Erroneous decisions may impact budget and human resources.
* Influences profit, loss, and productivity drivers at operating sites;
manages project budgetswith site collaboration.
* Maintains and optimizes plant loss landscape and is accountable for project savings.

About Yourself
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other field
* Strong knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma;
Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
* Demonstrated passion for safety, customer centricity and operational excellence
* Minimum 7 years of manufacturing experience;
preferred leadership ina plant
* Excellent understanding of the interaction between operational excellence and customer service
* Effective verbal and written communication at all levels
* Strong project/program management track record
* Experience in multi-site and multi-cultural environments
* Business acumen linking projects to business results
* Minimum 5 years operating a production system;
certified or recognizedas a Production System practitioner
* BD Excellence Factory Flow and Lean Workplace knowledge: time study, Kanban, 5S/5T, internal logistics, etc.
* Basic smart automation knowledge (Karakuri, AGV, AMR, automatic warehousing, etc.)
* Proven problem-solving, training, and coaching ability
Personal Specification
* Flexible and able to travel up to 70%
* Fluent English required;
Spanish is a plus
* Ability to influence without authority;
leadership and strategic thinking
* Experience working in highly matrixed organizations and building transversal teams
* Ability to translate business objectives into tactical plant activities
* Results-oriented with financial acumen
