As a 6-12 Physical Education/ Health Teacher at our international school, you will play a vital role in promoting social-emotional, mental and physical health and an active lifestyle among our diverse student body. You will deliver engaging and comprehensive PE and Health lessons, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages students to develop collaborative and cooperative skills, and a lifelong passion for physical activity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the physical education and health curriculum, contribute to the overall development of students, and work within a multicultural and dynamic educational setting.
Planning

* Design and document units of study on the Learning Management System using the three stages of Understanding by Design (UbD): Identify Desired Results (Standards, Big Ideas, Knowledge/Skills), Determining Acceptable Evidence (Assessment For Learning/Of Learning), Planning Learning Experiences and Instruction.
* Plan engaging and purposeful lessons that are aligned with learning standards. Incorporate strategies in planning that meets the diverse learning needs of students.
* Identify and use rich resources to enrich learning.
* Plan collaboratively with team members.
Instruction

* Use high impact research based instructional strategies to engage students in optimal learning.
* Deliver quality instruction that is purposeful and differentiated in order to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Assessment

* Design assessments to collect evidence of student learning and understanding.
* Collect, analyze, and use assessment data to inform teaching and learning (Formative Assessment) and to evaluate student performance and progress (Summative Assessment).
* Encourage students to reflect critically on their learning with the aim of continuous improvement.
* Maintain accurate student records and provide regular reports on individual student progress and performance.
* Creates a learning environment that is attractive, comfortable, safe, and welcoming.
* Uses resources, routines, and procedures to foster a purposeful, engaging student centered learning environment.

The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.

* Bachelor's degree in education with a focus on physical education and health education
* Proven experience as a Physical Education/Health Teacher, preferably in an international or multicultural educational setting
* Familiarity with recent North American pedagogy
* Deep knowledge of various sports, physical fitness and health concepts, and wellness practices
* Experience with data-driven assessment tools that facilitate differentiated instruction
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information and provide feedback effectively.
* Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and promotes equal opportunities.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills to plan lessons, assess students, and manage extracurricular activities.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and the ability to integrate new teaching methodologies and technologies into practice.
* CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
* Evidence of recent professional development activities
* Proficiency in English. Familiarity and experience with the Spanish language is a plus.
* Preferred Leadership experience in Physical Education and/or Health from a previous school.
All prospective employees must be able to clear a background check as well as a sexual offenders clearance for all other countries where the candidate has lived or worked for a period of 3 months or more, over the last 5 years. As well as that, the verification process includes the cross-check of the requested references, which must cover the last five years of work.
