KITCHEN ASSISTANT | HOTEL EL FUERTE MARBELLA

Fuerte Group Hotels is inviting applications for a Kitchen Assistant position at the 5-star Hotel El Fuerte Marbella. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Chef in the preparation and cooking of dishes, following precise instructions to ensure the correct production and high quality of the final culinary product.

2. Essential Job Functions (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)

Your daily life will focus on food preparation, hygiene, and operational efficiency within the kitchen.

2.1. Food Preparation & Cooking Support
* Assist the Chef in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring a high-quality final product.
* Clean, peel, and cut food for side dishes and other components.
* Prepare simpler dishes according to the technical specifications, checking product quality and ensuring the presentation meets the organization’s requirements.
2.2. Quality, Hygiene & Storage
* Verify the quality of the products used to prepare the dishes.
* Place and organize food in refrigerated storage and clean the units to ensure hygienic conditions and optimal product preservation.
* Store incoming products properly, actively maintaining the cold chain.
* First, clean your assigned station and work surface; then, ensure the kitchen is clean and ready for the next service.
2.3. Operational Planning & Control
* Collaborate in the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of the buffet service.
* Plan preparations in advance to ensure the most efficient service possible.
* Ensure the correct use of kitchen equipment, checking and monitoring for any issues and promptly reporting them if they occur.
* Assist in compiling a list of products that have been lost or wasted.
3. Minimum Requirements

You are the ideal candidate for this position if you meet the following criteria:

* Education: Intermediate/Advanced Vocational Training in Cooking and Gastronomy and/or similar. A valid Food Handler’s Certificate is mandatory.
* Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the position within a 5-star environment and the luxury segment (e.g., Leading Hotels of the World, Preferred Hotels & Resorts).
* Language Skills: English proficiency is valuable, and knowledge of other languages is a plus.
* Technical Skills: Familiarity with Office Suite.
* Note on Internship Contract: The option of an Internship Contract is offered to people who have recently completed their formal studies (regulated studies related to the position) and provided that no more than 3 years have passed since their completion.
