Overview
The Cloud Service Manager is responsible for the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of cloud services across the organization. Acting as the bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external service providers, the Cloud Service Manager ensures services meet business requirements, comply with standards, and achieve agreed SLAs. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and innovation in cloud service management.
Preferred Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in cloud service delivery or IT service management.
* Proven track record managing enterprise-scale cloud services.
* Strong understanding of cloud operations, SLAs, and service lifecycle management.
* Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of cloud services, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
* Define, track, and report on SLAs, KPIs, and service metrics, ensuring alignment with business needs.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in service quality, cost efficiency, and user experience.
* Manage incident, problem, and change processes, ensuring smooth service operations.
* Partner with business stakeholders and vendors to maintain compliance, manage risks, and optimize contracts.
* Promote best practices in cloud governance, cost optimization (FinOps), and security compliance.
Required Technical Skills
* In-depth knowledge of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud governance.
* Proficiency in service performance monitoring and reporting.
* Familiarity with FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization strategies.
* Strong understanding of security, compliance, and risk management in cloud environments.
* Hands-on experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
Optional Skills & Certifications
* Certifications:
ITIL v4, PMP, FinOps Certified Practitioner.
* Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.
* Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of vendor and contract management.
Background & Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
Equivalent professional experience and recognized certifications may substitute for formal education.
Technical Environment
* ITSM Tools:
ServiceNow, Jira Service Management.
* Monitoring & Reporting:
Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, Grafana, Power BI.
* Frameworks & Standards:
ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000, ISO 27001.
