Network Install Technician, Infrastructure Delivery

Amazon Web Services’ Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates global infrastructure. This role focuses on installing and maintaining cabling and equipment in AWS data centers to support the next‑generation network.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks.
* Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
* Install fiber and copper cabling, and patch cables between equipment.
* Maintain safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation.
* Follow established hardware installation procedures and handle break‑fix activities.
* Use material‑handling tools and equipment safely.
* Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.
Physical Requirements
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; perform group lifts for 41+ pounds.
* Work in a 24/7 environment with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
* Operate in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments.
* Stand, bend, lift, stretch, reach, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
* Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely without limitation.
Basic Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 2+ years of experience in Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management.
Preferred Qualifications
* Industry‑standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
* Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
* Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
* Experience managing medium to large, complex project scopes with ambiguous details.
* Knowledge of major command‑line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).

Hourly compensation ranges: USA, VA, Chantilly – $30.00–$54.00; USA, VA, Dulles – $30.00–$54.00; USA, VA, Haymarket – $30.00–$54.00; USA, VA, Manassas – $30.00–$54.00.
