Responsible for overseeing the strategy and management of intellectual property within an organization, especially in relation to research and development activities.
This position combines leadership in innovation management, IP protection, and strategic decision-making.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Leadership and strategic development: Develop and implement the company's intellectual property strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business and R&D objectives.
2. Patent portfolio management: Patent filing strategy, prosecution monitoring, portfolio review and optimization, and cost management.
3. IP risk management and compliance: Coordinate efforts to enforce the company's patents and defend against infringement claims.
4. Collaboration with R&D teams: Provide ongoing training to R&D teams on IP issues, including patent filing processes, IP protection strategies, and the importance of IP in commercializing innovation.
5. IP commercialization and licensing: Licensing strategy, partnerships and alliances, and market intelligence analysis.
6. External relations and networking: Maintain relationships with patent offices, IP authorities, and other relevant regulatory bodies to stay informed of IP trends, policy changes, and collaboration opportunities.
YOUR PROFILE :
1. Education: Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Experience: In intellectual property management, including patent prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic IP planning.
3. Industry experience: Extensive work with R&D teams in a corporate environment, preferably in the powertrain industry.
4. Legal knowledge: Thorough understanding of patent law, patent filing processes, and enforcement procedures, both nationally and internationally.
5. Leadership skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to influence senior management and cross-functional teams.
6. Negotiation skills: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with external partners, patent offices, and legal teams.
7. Personal attributes: Positive attitude, teamwork, proactive solutions, and capacity for innovation.
8. Communication skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
9. Language requirements: Spanish language proficiency is required; French language skills are highly desirable.
10. Driving license: Valid B category driving license is a must.
