Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer
The RoleInsureTech is seeking a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to lead and support application systems development and maintenance projects. This role involves providing strategic tools to Charles Taylor's business and clients to enhance efficiency and accuracy, along with recommending, developing, and implementing technology solutions to achieve our 100% Customer Satisfaction goal.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate and embody Charles Taylor's six core values, fostering a supportive environment, excellence, partnership, quality, entrepreneurship, and adaptability.
* Develop high-level technical specifications and detailed program specifications for data migration projects.
* Create and maintain database PL/SQL scripts following standards and best practices.
* Conduct unit testing for database scripts and ensure coding standards are met through technical reviews.
* Support and mentor junior developers in delivering solutions.
* Assist in defining user requirements and developing functional specifications.
* Design systems architecture related to functionality, architecture, and databases for complex information systems.
* Provide expertise in systems development, including databases, application architecture, and Oracle technologies.
* Estimate programming and design tasks, contributing to project planning.
* Monitor and implement technology upgrades, patches, and new releases, ensuring optimal versions are used.
* Communicate new features and training opportunities to users for effective application use.
Required Skills
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
* Proven experience in enterprise-scale software engineering, preferably with TDD.
* Over 5 years of experience with PL/SQL and SQL in Oracle 11g/12c environments.
* Experience with packages, triggers, procedures, and materialized views.
* Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts and database design in Oracle.
* Ability to review and optimize SQL and PL/SQL code for performance.
* Understanding of Unix or Windows scripting.
* Experience in Agile development environments.
* Oracle certification is preferred.
* Good interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of the insurance industry.
* Experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
