Accounting Manager (Spain)

Mission
The Accounting Manager will oversee the full accounting cycle for several Spanish entities operating in real estate development, land development, investment, and holding activities.
You will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of all accounting and tax obligations, acting as the main point of contact for local authorities, auditors, and the Group's Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Management
Manage end-to-end accounting for Spanish entities (AP, AR, expense reports, general ledger).
Post accounting entries, prepare supplier payments, and review expense reimbursements.
Issue customer invoices, monitor ageing reports, and manage collections.
Record and reconcile all bank movements; prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Prepare semi-annual and annual financial statements.
Review, analyse, and reconcile general ledger and intercompany accounts.
Upload accounting data to the consolidation system (semi-annual).
Coordinate yearly formalities (annual accounts filing, statutory documentation) with the Legal Department.
2. Tax Management
Prepare and submit periodic VAT returns.
Ensure compliance with all mandatory tax filings.
Oversee Social Security declarations and payments with the local payroll provider.
Prepare the annual tax package.
Manage tax inspections and audits as the main contact for tax authorities.
3. Accounting & Tax Compliance
Monitor changes in Spanish accounting and tax regulations.
Advise the Group Finance Department on regulatory updates and implications.
Ensure internal processes comply with local legislation and Group policies.
4. Cross-Functional Projects
Participate in system upgrades, process improvements, and finance-transformation initiatives.
Act as the subject-matter expert for Spain in accounting and tax topics.

Required Profile
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent (Bac +2 / Bac +5 or Spanish equivalent).
Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
Experience in real estate or investment sectors is a strong advantage.
Strong command of Excel and familiarity with modern accounting tools.
Knowledge of SAGE X3 and KYRIBA is a plus.
Operational level of English or French required.
Highly organised, autonomous, reliable, and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal skills.
