As IT&DATA - Data Scientist, you will have the following k ey accountabilities, deliverables & KPIs, and impact on business results:
This role will focus on designing and deploying cutting-edge machine learning and AI solutions to drive business impact across Research & Innovation, Quality & Food Safety, and Sales. You will work on high-impact projects such as predictive modeling, causal inference, optimization, and generative AI applications to unlock insights and accelerate decision-making. Location for this position is Barcelona.
Your mission will be:
1. Collaborate with business partners & data project leaders to identify business needs and translate them into actionable measures
2. Apply state-of-the-art algorithms and predictive models (Machine Learning/Deep Learning) to answer business problems.
3. Model Development: Build, validate, and deploy advanced machine learning models (., CatBoost, XGBoost, deep learning) for forecasting, optimization, and recommendation systems.
4. Causal Inference & Experimentation: Apply causal inference techniques and design experiments to measure the impact of interventions.
5. Data Strategy: Partner with data engineers to ensure robust data pipelines and scalable architectures.
6. Business Impact: Translate complex analytics into actionable insights for stakeholders in business like QFS, R&I, Ops, Sales, Marketing.
7. Innovation: Explore and implement state-of-the-art AI techniques (., generative AI, reinforcement learning) to solve business challenges.
8. Mentorship: Guide junior data scientists and foster best practices in coding, model governance, and documentation.
About You

9. Have more than. 7 years of experience in Data Science within a fast-paced and complex business setting, preferably working as a Senior Data Scientist.
10. Have a MSc, PhD or other Advanced Degree in a field linked to computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or closely related fields
11. Have experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is a plus.
12. English is a must
We are looking for people having the following technical skills:
13. Programming: python (pandas, numpy), Spark, Git
14. Modeling: supervised & unsupervised learning
15. Infrastructure : Cloud (Azure is a plus)
16. Data Science tools/modules: Databricks / MLFlow
17. Solid understanding of statistics, causal inference, and optimization.
Experience in all or several parts of Advanced Analytics process will be challenged:
18. Explore the potential of a raw data set
19. Build relevant and performant models and analyses
20. Scale, deploy and monitor industrialized projects
21. Consistency of approach for a data domain/portfolio of projects Mandatory skills:
22. Substantial experience working on full-life cycle data science project
23. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in an environment with multiple priorities.
24. Excellent written and verbal communications skill. In particular, a strong proven ability to communicate statistical and modeling results in a clear manner.
