Baxter is on a journey to separate our ~$5B Kidney Care segment into a standalone company. We will build on our nearly 70-year legacy in acute therapies and home and in-center dialysis to provide best-in-class care to the people we serve. The completion of the proposed separation of Kidney Care from Baxter into a standalone company (to be named Vantive) remains subject to the satisfaction of customary conditions.
Position Overview
The Associate Director for Environmental Compliance and Sustainability is the lead for Vantive’s Environmental Compliance Strategy and execution, as well as sustainability strategy and goal execution.
This role provides leadership in developing and deploying environmental compliance policies, management system elements, sustainability goals, and related programs. The individual will lead key environmental technical projects across Vantive, managing internal and external resources effectively.
The person in this position promotes enterprise-wide EHS risk mitigation and advances global, multi-media Environmental Programs. They build collaborative partnerships, involve stakeholders, influence business decisions, and align strategies to ensure successful completion of external sustainability commitments.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop ongoing sustainability strategies in partnership with departments such as Corporate Responsibility, Communications, Investor Relations, and Legal.
* Lead all aspects of sustainability strategy, including materiality assessments and goal setting.
* Develop, deploy, track, and report on sustainability goals.
* Provide sustainability information for customer queries, RFPs, and tenders.
* Coordinate sustainability reporting (REACH, WEEE, batteries, packaging reports, etc.).
* Address emerging and existing sustainability regulations, ensuring compliance and management system alignment.
* Track and report environmental compliance metrics.
* Engage with business units to implement environmental projects and solutions.
* Collaborate organization-wide to improve environmental policies and management systems based on feedback.
* Liaise with legal, vendors, and regulators for compliance and risk mitigation.
* Identify and address EHS&S management gaps, develop corrective actions, and foster continuous improvement.
* Utilize enterprise EHS&S data for risk-based planning and trend evaluation.
* Communicate sustainability impacts to leadership and influence strategic decisions.

* Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Leadership experience in diverse, fast-paced environments.
* Ability to interpret scientific and statistical data.
