From the Efficient and Sustainable Processes (PES) team we are looking for a researcher to join the area temporarily, through a replacement contract. Among the main functions of the person will be: Diagnosis and analysis of value chains and identification of legislative, market, and by-product requirements. Sample management and coordination of laboratory analytics. Work in microbiology and fermentation (solid and liquid) with different microorganisms. Design, execution, and monitoring of laboratory tests : fermentations, hydrolysis, compound extraction, digestibility, filtration, etc. Development and interpretation of analytics aimed at human, animal, nutraceutical, or fertilizer applications. Treatment and statistical data analysis. Design and execution of pilot/industrial scale tests (fermentation, drying, shelf life, biotechnological production…). Handling of equipment and processes in pilot/industrial plant. Preparation of technical reports, meeting minutes, and support in project proposals and deliverables. Definition and development of Experimental Laboratory Tests: Sample handling protocols, management, and launching of analytics. Experience in microbiology laboratories and fermentation processes with microorganisms. Experimental design of laboratory tests (solid fermentation processes with filamentous fungi, submerged fermentation processes with microalgae and/or bacteria and yeasts, enzymatic hydrolysis, extraction of bioactive compounds, in vitro digestibility, filtration…). Performing characterization and process monitoring analytics Development and interpretation of analytics for target applications (human, animal, fertilizers, nutraceutical…). Data treatment and statistics. Definition and development of Experimental Pilot/Industrial Plant Tests: Experimental design of tests (fermentation processes with microorganisms, drying processes, shelf life analysis, production of biotechnological compounds, enzymatic hydrolysis, …). Handling of equipment and processes at pilot/industrial scale. Sample handling protocols, management, and launching of analytics. Development and interpretation of analytics for target applications (human, animal, nutraceutical, fertilizers …) and their subsequent statistical analysis. Use of data analysis software. Meetings and Technical Report Writing: Meeting management. Writing meeting minutes: commitments and agreements. Writing technical reports: justification reports; deliverables; scientific articles; Support in proposal writing.
