The IMDEA Software Institute (Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Software Development Technologies) is a non-profit research institute under the umbrella of the Regional Government of Madrid, Spain. The Institute’s goal is to perform the research of excellence required to devise methods that enable the cost-effective development of software products with sophisticated functionality and high quality, i.e., secure, reliable, and efficient.
Description
The Institute seeks to disseminate its research results and their impact on society among the general public. Additionally, the Institute wants to enhance its visibility, in line with the high-quality research results it obtains.
Tasks (non-exhaustive)
- Proactively find topics / news worthy of being disseminated, and prepare media releases aimed at a general audience.
- Identify communication needs, weaknesses, goals.
- Elaborate and periodically revise a communication plan addressing the needs of the Institute.
- Establish a fluid relationship with main media outlets (newspapers, radio, tv).
- Manage social media.
- Manage internal communication.
- Update web pages (news).
- Support for dissemination of external events.
- Design / elaborate dissemination material.
- Support the design and coordination of research dissemination activities.
Profile
- Very good command of Spanish (native or bilingual) and English (C1 level or equivalent required).
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Very good writing skills.
- Acquaintance with the use of usual computer tool suites is expected.
Additional capabilities
- Degree or proven studies / courses in any area related to this position.
- Working proficiency in the use of graphical design tools.
- Working proficiency in the use of video editing tools.
