Are you passionate about driving operational excellence in petrochemical processes through advanced optimization tools? We’re excited to open this opportunity within our International Optimization & Process Department for a highly skilled Dynamic Optimization Process Engineer.
In this role, you’ll craft and apply cutting-edge strategies that elevate our production capabilities. You’ll work with industry-leading tools like Aspen On-line, RTO, Hybrid models and Aspen OTS, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to innovation across multiple areas—performance, safety, integrity, and process development.
Key Responsibilities
As our next expert in dynamic optimization, you will:
1. Analyze and refine petrochemical processes using Aspen technology (On-line, RTO, Hybrid models).
2. Build and deploy simulation models that boost operational efficiency and reliability.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally to troubleshoot inefficiencies and implement tailored solutions.
4. Conduct thorough testing and simulations to validate and fine-tune optimization strategies.
5. Continuously monitor performance and evolve strategies for long-term improvements.
6. Prepare operator training systems with Aspen OTS to reinforce operational understanding.
7. Document methodologies and results to ensure seamless knowledge sharing.
8. You'll also play an essential role in driving progress across these development areas:
9. Process Development: Explore new designs or equipment upgrades to lower costs and unlock new product possibilities.
10. Project Execution: Guarantee new projects meet high standards and are launch-ready while optimizing capital investment.
11. Process Safety: Identify risks and develop safety measures to protect people, assets, and performance.
12. Asset Integrity: Ensure operating parameters align with the design life to prevent product loss or containment issues.
13. Knowledge Sharing: Champion internal collaboration, benchmarking, and innovation; support historical documentation and training.
What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking professionals who bring expertise, curiosity, and drive. Our ideal candidate has:
14. A degree in Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
15. Proven experience with Aspen tools—Aspen On-line, Hybrid models, Aspen Plus & Hysys RTO, and Aspen OTS.
16. 7+ years of experience preferred, but we’re open to all levels with the right technical and problem-solving skills.
17. Fluency in Spanish and English; knowledge of Portuguese, French, or Chinese is a plus.
18. Hands-on experience in dynamic modeling and simulation.
19. Exposure to LAB processes is valuable, though not a requirement.
20. Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
Ready to bring your technical expertise to the next level? Join a team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous growth.
