The Role...
As a Sous Chef at Soho House, your role is to deliver a consistently high standard of food for our members and guests and support your Head/Exec Chef in planning, organizing and managing the kitchen according to company policies and standards.
Main Duties ...
Your duties include recruiting, training and assigning tasks to help build a strong team.
You will ensure all food hygiene and safety measures are in place and work alongside the Head Chef to deliver a high-quality dining experience.
Representing the company in all that you do. Being a role model to your team in terms of appearance, discipline and conduct and always showcasing our Soho House values.
Leading by example alongside the Head Chef to deliver high quality and efficient dining experiences for members and guests.
Working alongside the Head Chef to monitor and improve the food offering, updating menus to reflect our food philosophy, seasonal offerings and member preferences.
Supporting the Head Chef to oversee the entire kitchen operation ensuring efficiency, consistency and adherence to quality standards.
Overseeing food preparation, cooking and presentation to standard.
Supporting with purchasing and cost control according to budgetary goals.
Fostering a positive and collaborative work environment within a diverse team.
Ensuring teamwork and synergy across all departments through clear, respectful communication.
Supporting to recruit and onboard new starters according to staffing levels.
Supporting to conduct and track team learning and development and the Cookhouse program to enhance skills and passion for food.
Managing staff schedules, holiday requests and payroll and working alongside the People Team to manage HR issues within the kitchen team.
Ensuring all food hygiene and safety policies are followed as well as enforcing local and Company compliance policies, procedures and standards.
Delegating tasks to team and completing daily checklists that support anticipated business levels, production, orders, special requests, events, dietary restrictions and ensures team follows proper allergy procedure.
Helping to enforce processes to run an effective and efficient kitchen while maintaining the highest-level of standards, food quality, COGS and minimized margins to increase profits without sacrificing taste or member / guest experience.
Enforcing proper storage procedures and equipment maintenance.
Working to deliver high quality Team Meals with varied choices and suitable to all dietary requirements.

Requirements ...
A successful Sous Chef for Soho House will ideally have 3-5 years’ experience in a busy high-profile kitchen and a natural flair for first class service in a similar role.
You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.
Experience managing P&L, labour, purchasing, vendors and quality control.
Strong attention to details
Excellent customer service
Fluent in English and Spanish
Organised and reliable
Ability to work and maximize relationships within a diverse team
