Senior Powertrain Engineer - Heavy Duty / Off-Road Vehicles
AVL Iberica offers a job in Spain (ES) as Senior Powertrain Engineer - Heavy Duty / Off-Road Vehicles. Join a strategic project in the defense sector, developing advanced technological solutions in advanced powertrain systems.
Your Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems, including engine and transmission (gearbox), thermal management and cabin climate control, electric machines and propulsion systems, and vehicle dynamics and steering.
* Model and simulate systems to validate performance and optimize functionality.
* Integrate systems by analyzing the impact of changes on overall architecture.
* Manage technical suppliers, evaluating international components and adapting them to local providers.
* Collaborate on hybridization systems and electronic architecture projects.
Your Profile:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or Automotive Engineering.
* 5‑10 years of experience in powertrain system development or similar automotive technologies, focusing on electrified powertrains.
* Deep knowledge of hybrid powertrain architectures, including electric motor and battery integration.
* Experience managing engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.
* Technical experience in electronic system architecture, engine calibration, software, and product design.
* Capability to manage economic aspects (CAPEX, OPEX, PRF evolution).
* Familiarity with tools such as SIEMENS NX, CATIA, ANSYS Mechanical, NASTRAN, FLOTHERM, FLO EFD, ESATAN, CRUISE M, and EXCITE M.
* Previous defense experience is a plus.
* High proficiency in Spanish and English.
