Overview QA Systems & Continuous Improvement Expert role at Barry Callebaut Group. You will ensure that all products meet Quality and Food Safety standards and Barry Callebaut Customers’ requirements. You will be the regulatory awareness advocate within the QA department and the sensory expert for the Barry Callebaut Manufacturing Iberica (BCMI) plant, acting as an internal auditor to identify and execute Continuous Improvements projects.
Key Responsibilities Respond to Iberian Customers’ questionnaires and technical requests for chocolate products (excluding Global Accounts); coordinate CoC/CoA profiles and specific requests (samples, analyses, SAE documentation, etc.).
Regulatory: ensure awareness of European and local regulations within the QA department. Manage sanitary registers and export/import documentation.
Quality Documentation System (QDS): administer, update, and improve the local QDS database; support BCMI employees with Quality Documentation issues.
Sensory: coordinate sensory activities according to Barry Callebaut standards; train the analysts’ panel and support BCMI stakeholders in case of deviations/non-conformities.
Labelling: translate legal texts to Catalan and Spanish and review pre-printed labels.
Audits: prepare internal audit plans, create checklists, perform internal audits, and complete corresponding reports (GMP, RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, FSSC 22000).
About You Qualifications and skills Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field.
Previous experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in the food or chocolate industry.
Strong knowledge of Quality and Food Safety regulations (e.g., FSSC 22000, HACCP).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proactive attitude to improve efficiency.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Fluent Spanish and Catalan, both written and spoken.
Advanced English, both written and spoken.
Additional Skills Experience with RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, SAE certifications.
Knowledge of chocolate production processes.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
