Electrical engineer - specialized in grid connection (madrid)

MED Power Plant Solutions is the department accountable for value engineering, contractual risk management, execution & product management on grid connection & plant control solutions in Vestas power plants along the full project value chain (Development, Sales, Construction and Service stages) in Mediterranean Region, including South European, African, Middle Eastern countries.

**Responsibilities**
- Grid Connection Application procedures scouting & interpretations and pro-active networking with System Operators in Spain;
- Collection of transmission grid atlas for Spain.
- Technical meetings with customers, consultants, contractors, grid operators & utilities.
1. Grid Capacity identification
- Scanning of the Grid Capacity availability from System Operators in Spain on monthly basis.
- Coordinating technical consultants to prepare "preliminary studies" for identifications of areas where grid capacity is available and related network constraints to connect wind projects and actively review them;
- Assessment of the grid requirements in the Grid Capacity Tenders issued by REE;
- Definition of the technical solution to answer the Grid Capacity Tenders;
- Definition of "eBoP conceptual design" and early stage technical feasibility assessment
- Negotiate grid technical requirements and preparation of contract documents to secure necessary grid agreements;
3. Preliminary electrical design management
- Coordinating technical consultants in the preparation of the "Preliminary Electrical BoP Design" (e.g. substation / collection system / electrical equipment sizing calculations and specifications / drawings), related design interfaces (e.g. electrical / SCADA / civil) and related Bill of Material;
- Preparing and reviewing single line diagrams, layouts, schemes of measurements, controls and protection systems;
- Engaging internally Grid Engineer to secure that the designed grid connection solution is in compliance with Grid Connection Performances Requirements;
- Coordinate and support activities with the internal stakeholders on electrical simulation studies to define the wind power plant performance (electrical losses, grid code compliance) according to site specific grid conditions and requirements.

**Qualifications**
- M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems
- Must have 5+ years of experience in a similar position from RES power plant projects development
- Experiences in REE or Spanish DSOs will be an asset
- Knowledge about High volatage and Medium voltage equipment
- Knowledge about Energy Market, electrical simulation SW, GIS tools will be an asset
- Proficient English language skills, both written and spoken
