To Lead and Ensure the execution of the External Operation Guidelines, which are established by Grupo Bimbo and Bimbo QSR for Suppliers, Co-Manufacturing, Storage processes, transportation, distribution and reverse logistics.
The Global External Operation Manager (EOM) will oversee the design, program & practices, implementation, monitoring, performance assessment and continuous improvement of External Operation systems across all company-owned and influenced manufacturing facilities worldwide. The position shall set and enforce standards, align global practices with regulatory and institutional customer requirements, and promote unified standards at each level of Supply Chain Organization.
*Establish the strategy to ensure the implementation of the GB & BQ Supplier Management Standards
Define and liaise with BQ AOW & Countries on the implementation of Policies, Programs and Procedures related to food quality and safety aimed at Supplier Management.
Support markets on establishing risk assessment and testing plan on incoming raw material control
Involve in resolving global and local supplier complaints regarding quality & food safety & regulatory issues.
Support on Approval, Development, Performance metrics and Certification Programs for Suppliers of Ingredients & Packaging Materials from a Quality and Food Safety perspective
Work together with Global & Regional supply chain management (SCM) teams on defining the priorities on alternative supplier development for contingency planning on continuous supply and providing competition on service and cost.
Lead and Organize Food Quality and Safety Audit for Suppliers.
Monitor Global supplier’s progress and provide regular status reports of supplier performance.
Co-Manufacturing Management:
Establish the strategy to ensure the implementation of the GB & BQ co-manufacturing management standard
Involve in development of food safety and quality programs for co-manufacturing
Support on defining service agreements in contracts with co-manufacturers that include the rights and duties of the parties with respect to quality, safety and legality
Closely work with AOW and Countries to establish controls on the performance of the product produced by the co-manufactures through product qualification.
Establish audits, follow-ups, and supervision of co-manufacturing operations at BQ level, making the necessary decisions and giving timely alerts to internal stakeholders when the quality, safety, and legality of our products are at risk
Define KPIs that allow evaluation, providing feedback and making decisions regarding co-manufacturing.
Quality in Logistics, Transportation and Reverse logisitc:
Establish the strategy to ensure the implementation of the quality and safety standards for storage and transportation of finished product
Ensure the implementation of guidelines for the selection, approval, and monitoring of new and existing external warehouses that handle materials and finished product
Support markets on establishing finished good handling procedures at DCs to maintain the product quality and food safety.
Support on development of service-level agreements in contracts or purchase orders with primary and secondary transport operators, which include quality and safety guidelines
Implement evaluation systems in warehouses, in all own, outsourced and transport operations, which includes the identification of findings, definition of action plans, feedback, monitoring and management of continuous improvement
Carry out the necessary strategies with stakeholders to ensure the resources required to close gaps, raise alerts in case of evidence of risks in quality, safety and legality of products.
Establish KPIs that allow evaluating, providing feedback and making decisions regarding quality and safety guidelines in external warehouses and transports.
IT Tool Management:
Ensure the fully implementation and maintaining of Tracegains Software at BQ.
Organize the ongoing tool user training for partners of BQ and External Operation
Team Development & Training:
Develop and conduct Quality & Food Safety expectation training for internal departments and partners of External Operation.
Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes related to External Operation Management.
Facilitate global knowledge sharing, best practices, and harmonized procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Management.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Food Technology or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Minimum 7+ years of progressive Supplier Management/ Food safety& Quality / leadership experience, including multi-site or international scope—preferably in baked goods or food manufacturing.
Expertise in Supply Chain & Export/Import & Related Regulations and standards.
~ Demonstrated ability to lead cross-cultural, remote, and matrixed teams.
Possess good English communication skills (both written and oral).
Proficient with Microsoft Office and other menu driven software applications (Microsoft, SAP, TraceGains, etc.).
Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to lead by influencing and a facilitative style of management.
