This role supports the Asset Digitization (AD) Solutions team within the Process Automation (Operations Technology) function.
The Assets & Industrial Connectivity Engineer enables the physical connection of assets to our digital platform, assesses asset connectivity needs, and collaborates with SMEs to develop solutions when gaps exist.
The role also involves creating technical documentation and supporting standardization and data strategy efforts.
Responsibilities
Enable data flow from asset to servers and define technical requirements to connect terminal assets with the Asset Digitization application.
Audit terminals to determine technical needs, action plans, and requirements before project implementation.
Configure hardware to enable data flow and install or retrofit sensors as needed.
Transfer knowledge and conduct training for terminal staff; define user templates per equipment type (QCs, RTGs, TTs, RMGs, SCs, reefers, and others).
Classify signals according to templates and coordinate signal mapping with OEMs.
Ensure signals are available in the Ignition platform after commissioning and testing; verify prerequisites and terminal readiness.
Support deployment of AD solutions across terminals, collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and OEMs.
Present solutions and hardware to stakeholders, deliver training, and oversee independent deployment.
Provide different levels of support to AD products before and after go-live; participate in FAT/SAT and validate outcomes.
Help suppliers and OEMs prepare relevant product and project documentation; review and approve materials.
Contribute to hardware architecture design, development and implementation for AD products.
Shared responsibilities
Drive product performance and roadmap delivery with the AD team.
Create and execute QA/test cases across AD, OT, PD&M;, and Terminal environments.
Assist in documentation for new products, including requirements and deployment materials, with AD and PA Leads.
Adhere to IT and OT standards in coordination with the Technology team.
Support regulatory compliance and audit processes with AD and PA Leads.
Lead change management and promote product adoption across AD, OT PM&D;, Terminal, and Operations functions.
Provide training to end users in collaboration with the AD team.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in products, projects, or programs within technology and/or operations, preferably involving automation and/or transport/logistics.
Hands-on experience in real-time operating or industrial environments (e.g., logistics, shipping, port operations).
Strong understanding of port equipment, automated systems and controls, and industrial infrastructure architecture.
PLC: Intermediate to expert-level programming and troubleshooting across brands (Siemens, ABB, Yaskawa, Fuji, Omron, GE Fanuc, etc.).
Experience with industrial network protocols, device communication, IoT integration, edge computing, and related languages.
Experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, servers, firewalls, virtualization, databases, backups, and archival policies.
Knowledge of cybersecurity practices in industrial and IoT environments.
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability to new technologies; strategic thinking and stakeholder management.
Analytical mindset with experience in SCADA systems, especially Ignition (certification preferred or expected within six months of onboarding).
Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, and Linux.
Experience with cloud IoT platforms or big data ecosystems is a plus.

Engineering degree or equivalent.
Ignition Certification desired.
