We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Controller to support and strengthen our accounting operations. The Assistant Controller will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting team development, and driving process improvements in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position requires strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, hands-on involvement in accounting processes, and the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Support the oversight of general accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering a positive team environment.
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data and reporting.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to support decision-making.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
Support external audit processes, including preparation of documentation and coordination with auditors.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations.
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data, generate reports, and support business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
6–9 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
Experience supporting or leading month-end close processes and financial reporting.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis).
Excellent communication skills in English (advanced proficiency required).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Senior Living, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare industries.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Yardi or similar platforms.
Experience working in a shared services environment or supporting U.S.-based operations.
Exposure to audit processes and internal controls frameworks.
