Opportunity – Data Engineer Lead
About the role
This role is crucial for leading a team of 5 Data Engineers, ensuring the development of high-quality data solutions while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AWS, Airflow, DBT, S3, Snowflake, and ClickHouse, and experience with JIRA and GitHub.
You will be responsible for both technical leadership and strategic planning, overseeing sprints, managing priorities, and ensuring effective communication across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of 5 Data Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
• Own and drive data engineering best practices, ensuring optimal use of AWS, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, ClickHouse, and S3.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, assess priorities, and define data engineering roadmaps.
• Manage sprint planning and backlog prioritization using JIRA.
• Oversee data pipeline design, development, and maintenance to ensure scalability and performance.
• Collaborate in the definition of data quality, governance and security frameworks.
• Establish and enforce best practices in version control, CI/CD, and code quality using GitHub.
Required Skills & Experience:
• 4-5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 1 years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, including S3, Lambda, and Redshift (or equivalent technologies).
• Hands-on experience with Airflow, DBT, Docker, and ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar.
• Strong experience in ETL pipeline development, data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering tasks.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in JIRA for sprint planning.
• Familiarity with GitHub workflows, including branching strategies and CI/CD processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Ability to balance technical leadership with project management and prioritization.
Location: Hybrid Model - Barcelona (Viladecans).
