NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for 'Transportation Execution' across Amazon's transportation network. It ensures hassle‐free, timely pick‐up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, NOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed on the proceedings. Along with tactical problem‐solving, NOC is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and then automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations. NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon's ability to serve its customers on time.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate and lead efforts across operations, multiple technology and cross‐border program teams.
2. Design new program frameworks/processes, run defect‐reduction programs, and identify input and output metrics to gauge program success.
3. Work with business and operations teams to analyze historic results, challenge status‐quo and make business recommendations to senior management based on analyses.
4. Drive improvements to the reporting tools, methods and processes to increase availability and granularity of actionable data for internal and external partners.
5. Own the development of roadmaps and metrics to measure progress of the initiative, and write reports that detail the progress to leadership on a frequent basis.
6. Liaise across functions to drive the project, clear issues and bottlenecks, and work with technology teams to scope out and drive any tech changes needed.
7. Act as a single‐threaded owner for initiatives, driving the program toward achieving clear financial or other impact goals set forth.

Along with tactical problem‐solving, NOC is also charged with understanding trends in network exceptions and automating processes or proposing process changes to streamline operations. This second aspect involves network monitoring and significant analysis of network data. NOC plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of Amazon transportation and thereby has a direct impact on Amazon's ability to serve its customers on time.
Basic Qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1+).
- Required: Japanese Language Proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field.
