Job Position
We are seeking an outstanding research leader to join our research line in Cloud and Edge Computing for IoT and Distributed Systems through the Ramón y Cajal fellowship program.
This position is aimed at highly qualified researchers with an established international track record who wish to consolidate their academic careers and develop their own line of independent research within a collaborative environment.
Research Focus
Our group explores the design and evaluation of advanced architectures, protocols, and distributed data processing techniques across cloud–edge–IoT ecosystems.
* Scalable edge computing techniques for IoT networks.
* Distributed and data-intensive systems for real-time processing.
* Architectures and interoperability protocols for heterogeneous IoT–cloud–edge integration.
* Applied research in smart learning environments, education spaces, and other domains where technology can serve social good.
Role & Opportunities
* Developing and leading an independent research agenda in line with our broader focus on cloud and edge computing.
* Taking a leadership role in competitive grant applications (national and European).
* Establishing and strengthening international collaborations and networks.
* Publishing in top-tier conferences and journals.
* Mentoring and supervising junior researchers, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows.
* Bringing a vision for how cloud and edge computing can address scientific, industrial, and social challenges.
Candidate Profile
* PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
* Strong international research track record with high-impact publications.
* Demonstrated independence in research and potential to attract competitive funding.
* Expertise in distributed systems, cloud computing, edge computing, and IoT.
* Experience in leading or coordinating research projects is highly valued.
* Excellent communication skills and capacity for international collaboration.
