General functions:Carrying out tasks leading to the obtaining of a doctorate degree, in accordance with the lines of research set out in the scientific report of the research project with reference: CIGRIS2024024 and title: "Synthesis and study of organic photoredox and photothermal photosensitizers for anticancer and antimicrobial therapy".
Specific functions:
* Synthesis and characterization of photoactive organic compounds.
* Study of photochemical and photophysical properties, including photoactivity tests.
* Studies with cell cultures, including analysis by confocal microscopy and flow cytometry.

Project: Neural plasticity in the relaxin3-somatostatin axis as a therapeutic target forbullying -induced social anxiety

General functions:Carrying out tasks leading to the obtaining of a doctorate degree, in accordance with the lines of research set out in the scientific report of the research project with reference: CIGRIS/2024/234 and title: "Neural plasticity in the relaxin3-somatostatin axis as a therapeutic target for social anxiety induced by bullying."
Specific functions:The person hired will actively participate in the development of a predoctoral research project focused on the study of neuronal plasticity of the RLN3-SST circuit in the regulation of social anxiety induced by bullying .
Your duties will include the manipulation of rodent animal models (repeated social defeat model), performance of behavioral tests such as the open field, social interaction and resident- in-resident tests, as well as the preparation and processing of brain samples for techniques such as stereotactic surgery, immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization using RNAscope and confocal microscopy image analysis. In addition, you will collaborate in brain clearing and volumetric analysis with light sheet microscopy, with the possibility of an international stay. You will also contribute to data interpretation, writing scientific articles and presenting results at conferences, in an international and multidisciplinary research environment.
Required university degree:
* Degree in Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology or equivalent/similar
Preferred merits:
* Hold a master's degree in Neuroscience, Pharmaceutical Technology, Food Technology, or equivalent/similar degrees.
* Previous experience in experimental animal models of neuropsychiatric disorders, especially in rodent studies focused on stress, anxiety, and social behavior, as well as the use of behavioral tests such as the open field test, the elevated plus maze, the resident-intruder test, and social interaction. Knowledge and practical mastery of techniques such as stereotactic surgery, immunofluorescence, the RNAscope protocol, and the use of confocal microscopy with FIJI image analysis will also be considered relevant. Participation in scientific conferences, experience in international collaborative environments—including Erasmus stays and similar programs—as well as accreditation for the handling of experimental animals according to Royal Decree 53/2013 will be taken into account. Finally, demonstrated motivation and interest in research into neuroplasticity, emotional circuits, and social anxiety, as well as the ability to work in a team and a commitment to developing a research career, will be highly valued.

* Design and develop software components to support interaction and the delivery of innovative interventions using peripheral devices connected to smartphones.
* Expand the reach of EMI and JIT mental health interventions by tailoring interaction and implementation to target patient groups, locations, and situations.
* Explore, conceptualize, design, and develop a specific health or mental health intervention using developed software components and techniques.
