The team and the position
Our Customer Care consists of 7 people for France, Spain and Portugal. We are located at our office in Portugal, Madrid and Mataro.
As a customer representative at Nilfisk you will be responsible for your own customer accounts. This means that you will follow up on orders, feedback and secure that the customer needs are fulfilled.
You will handle the daily customer contacts via phone and e-mail such as orders, deliveries, invoicing, returns, service agreements and requests. You will work close to our Sales and Service departments, so it's important to understand the customer needs and to be solution oriented.
It’s an advantage if you have a technical interest since your success in the role is dependent on solving customers problems.
Who are we looking for?
We think that you are experienced within sales, either customer support, inside sales or project coordination. You have a natural drive, take initiatives, and are used to see where improvements can be implemented. You are motivated by customer contacts and like to build long term relations. You have a pro-active approach and always put the customer in focus.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, providing support in both French and English across multiple channels (email and phone).
Responsibilities
- Management of inbound and outbound phone calls and email correspondence in response to any inquires, questions, or other follow up in a professional and helpful manner
- Develop knowledge of key customers, building meaningful relationships and driving trust in key competencies
- Resolve inquiries and issues efficiently, with empathy and care, creating positive interactions at every stage.
- Take full ownership of customer requests, following up promptly until resolution is achieved.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Logistics, Finance) to deliver accurate and timely responses.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and follow up on priority issues or potential risks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, sharing feedback and ideas to enhance processes and the overall customer journey.
- Accurately document customer interactions, feedback, and solutions in the CRM system.
- Prioritize projects/responsibilities and other duties as assigned
Key Requirements
- Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); Portuguese or Spanish is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to work independently with responsibility, ownership, and attention to detail.
- Well-organized with strong time management skills.
- Experience with CRM systems; knowledge of Salesforce and SAP is highly desirable.
- Team player with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage set-backs
