Job Description Summary : The role involves examining and interpreting large sets of medical and imaging data to build targeted datasets and solutions supporting digital pharma initiatives. The candidate should have a deep understanding of clinical data ontologies, terminologies, data standards, healthcare IT deployments, and experience modeling data using standardized lexicons, vocabularies, and dictionaries.
Roles and Responsibilities :
* Design and build technical clinical data dictionaries and ontologies to support real-world data sourcing for digital pharma.
* Perform data profiling and analysis for source systems, manually maintained data, machine or sensor-generated data, and target repositories.
* Use care pathway experience to determine proper sequencing and longitudinal attributes to create targeted datasets.
* Develop and maintain data mapping specifications based on data analysis and functional requirements.
* Build various data catalogs and real-world datasets for internal and third-party use.
* Collaborate with data architects and clinical specialists to accurately represent real-world datasets in clinical practice.
Education Qualification : Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, STEM majors, or healthcare-related fields with relevant experience.
Desired Characteristics & Expertise :
* Experience with healthcare-specific dictionaries, lexicons, vocabularies, and codes (ICD, CPT, DRG, LOINC, RXNORM, SNOMED, etc.).
* Experience with care pathways or service lines like Cardiology, Oncology, Surgery, Imaging, Emergency Medicine.
* Experience as a Clinical Informaticist in a healthcare setting.
* Hands-on experience with healthcare data of various types and formats.
* Proficiency in SQL scripting for MS SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
* Exposure to unstructured datasets and formats like XML and JSON.
* Ability to conduct exploratory data analysis and generate visual data summaries, proactively identifying data quality issues.
Domain Expertise :
* Experience handling healthcare datasets from providers.
* Clinical care pathway experience.
* Proven experience as an Informaticist in healthcare.
Leadership Skills :
* Team-oriented with self-driven execution skills.
* Clear communication and collaboration abilities.
* Ability to influence and present ideas effectively.
