Purpose
Under the direction of the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President, Sales – Western Europe (WE) has the responsibility for all business development and sales activities in the targeted territory of Western Europe, including developing the organization's footprint within the territory.
The Vice President, Sales – WE will create new revenue streams and ongoing business opportunities to ensure BVI Medical meets or exceeds bookings, revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction objectives in those countries. The role involves developing and fostering relationships with key customer executives and decision-makers, understanding their business, and creating new opportunities by identifying emerging regions and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage overall budget for the WE region
* Prospect, qualify, and generate significant new revenue streams and business opportunities
* Develop a 5-year growth plan including sales and investments, and manage P&L
* Create strategic account plans for target accounts outlining goals and growth strategies
* Represent products, services, and support needs to customer base and marketplace, working closely with marketing and product development
* Liaise with regulatory to ensure compliance for sales
* Evaluate and secure new business opportunities through targeted prospecting and expansion of existing clients
* Understand BVI products, services, pricing, and markets; stay current on industry topics
* Match customer needs with BVI capabilities and position the company as the preferred choice
* Build brand awareness and create new sales opportunities
* Manage the sales process, qualify opportunities, and build the sales pipeline
* Coordinate support from BVI personnel for business development activities
* Maintain up-to-date records in Salesforce
* Provide market and customer feedback for product development and marketing
* Attend industry conferences and events
* Provide weekly reports and forecasts
* Manage senior sales staff and other functions
* Possibly serve as legal representative for country entities
Qualifications
* 15+ years in ophthalmology surgical sales
* Impressive growth record in multiple geographies, especially in Europe
* 8+ years of sales experience in Europe
* Experience managing large P&L, with sales between USD 500m to 1b and leading teams of 500-3000
* Proven track record in developing GMs, succession planning, and external talent
* Experience managing distributors and direct teams in key countries
* Experience in establishing new businesses and legal entities, hiring cross-functional teams
* Impactful engagement with KOLs and surgeons, expanding accounts and cross-selling
